How do I make a therapy appointment or coaching call?

For Therapy

  • All new therapy client appointments are scheduled in advance.
  • First, we’ll have a free 15 minute consultation call to make sure we’re a good fit.
  • Then, if we’re a good fit, we’ll schedule your first session (an intake) with your therapist.
  • All paperwork will be completed online in the client portal along with adding a card on file to secure your appointment time.

For Coaching

  • All new coaching clients will schedule a free 15 minute coaching call. Learn what to expect here.
  • Then we will schedule follow-up calls after coaching paperwork is complete.
What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

Therapy and coaching can address different aspects of life challenges. Therapy focuses on deeper emotional and psychological issues, like healing from trauma, overcoming shame, or addressing sexual dysfunction tied to mental health concerns. It often involves exploring past experiences to better understand their impact on your current relationships and intimacy.

Coaching, on the other hand, is about practical tools and actionable strategies to improve your sexual and relational life. It’s ideal for building confidence, enhancing pleasure, learning communication skills, or exploring new dynamics like kink or non-traditional relationships. Coaching focuses on moving forward with clarity and empowerment, rather than diving into unresolved emotional wounds.

Choosing between therapy and coaching depends on whether you’re seeking healing or growth—and I’m here to help you find the right path.

What is the investment?
  • Business Coaching calls are currently in a package of $347 for two 60 minute calls along with resources for your specific needs.
  • Life Coaching calls are broken down into packages, a set of 4, set of 8, and set of 12.
  • Eighty-minute therapy sessions are $270. Fifty-minute therapy sessions are $180. Half Day Intensive $500 (3 hours). Full Day Intensive (6 hours) $1,000.
What is your style as a coach?
  • I believe the most important role I can play in the lives of my clients is supporter. As a part of a client’s support system, I can play many roles including but not limited to: encourager, nurturer, accountability partner, advocate, listener, rock. I use humor when appropriate, and I always do my best to make sure my clients feel confident in their goals and progress in the context of coaching.
How long are therapy sessions or coaching calls?
  • Therapy Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length. Intake sessions will be up to 80 minutes.
  • Coaching Calls are 60 minutes in length.
How long will coaching take?
  • It is different for everyone. Some clients find they only need support for a few weeks, others months, and others years. It is my job to make sure my clients are continuing to benefit and enthusiastically consent to services, without “overstaying my welcome”.
How can I do online coaching if I don't have privacy in my home?

I’ve had sessions with people while they’re in their cars (parked), while they go for a walk, in their backyard, wherever they feel most comfortable and in a quiet space. Changing up your scenery can do wonders for your mental health too!

How do I maintain ethical boundaries between my businesses?

As both a licensed therapist and coach, I keep therapy and coaching distinct to ensure ethical care. I clearly explain the differences between the two, so you’ll always know which service you’re receiving.

I never provide therapy and coaching to the same person at the same time. If a transition is needed, we take a pause, evaluate the shift, and agree on the new approach. I follow strict ethical guidelines to ensure clarity every step of the way.

How do I know you’re right for me?
  • I think it’s important for clients to work with coaches who are truly specialists in what they need. I know that makes it hard for you, because you can’t be expected to remember what each coach does.
  • Something that I offer is a free 15-minute consultation with ANYONE seeking coaching. I help them figure out what’s going on and what the right type of coaching and right kind of coach will be. Then, I help them get connected to that person. Coaching is only as good as the relationship between the coach and the client.

Why do you not take insurance?
  • There are several reasons why I am not in network with any insurance plans.
    • Insurance companies require a mental health disorder diagnosis, which will stay with your permanent health record.
    • They also require information about your qualifying symptoms and specific work in counseling.
    • Not involving insurance companies is the only way to assure your utmost confidentiality.
    • We will have the ability to decide the type and time-frame of treatment that would be the most effective for you, rather than an employee at the insurance company limiting the number of sessions and the type of therapy or coaching you receive.
    • In addition to these important clinical reasons, not filing insurance allows us to keep our self-pay rates as affordable as possible.
  • If you currently have insurance and want to use it for therapy, you may be able to do so. You will need to call your insurance company and inquire about your out of network benefits. Some insurances allow you to see providers who are not paneled with them and the insurance company may reimburse you a percentage of the fee you paid your therapist. You will pay the practice the full fee and then we can provide you with a superbill, which is basically a receipt for sessions that you give to your insurance company for proof of services for reimbursement purposes.

  • When calling your insurance company, you may want to ask the following:
  • Do I have out of network mental health benefits? Including Teletherapy?
  • If so, what is my deductible? Has it been met?
  • What is my co-insurance?
  • If they ask for a CPT code: 90834 = Individual session 45 minutes, 90847 = Couple/Family Session 45 minutes, 90837 = Session over 55 minutes
  • How many sessions does my plan cover?
  • How much will you reimburse for an out-of-network provider? How do I submit for reimbursement?
  • How quickly will I receive my reimbursement checks?
  • How long do I have to submit my superbill?

  • Please know that even if your insurance company offers out of network benefits, they may still deny your reimbursement and we are not liable for those charges that you have already incurred.
