Yin Yoga in Cumming, Georgia

Slow down. Release stress. Find your calm.

Life moves quickly—and sometimes our bodies and minds crave a slower, deeper way to restore balance. Yin yoga offers a gentle but powerful practice designed to help you pause, breathe, and create space both physically and emotionally.

What Is Yin Yoga?

Yin yoga is a slower, meditative style of yoga where poses are held for longer periods—usually 5 to 7 minutes. Instead of focusing on strength or flow, Yin targets the connective tissues (fascia, ligaments, joints) to improve flexibility, release tension, and support circulation.

Unlike more active practices, Yin is about stillness and surrender. It’s a chance to slow your mind, reconnect with your breath, and give your nervous system a much-needed reset.

Who Is Yin Yoga For?

Yin yoga is for anyone who feels:

  • Stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed

  • Stiff or tight from sitting, working out, or just life

  • Burned out and needing a reset

  • Curious about a quieter, more mindful yoga practice

  • In need of gentle self-care that restores body and mind

No flexibility, yoga experience, or fancy equipment required. Yin is welcoming for beginners and experienced yogis alike.

What to Expect in Class

In a Yin yoga session, you’ll be guided through a series of floor-based poses supported with props (blankets, bolsters, or pillows you already have at home). Each pose is held for several minutes to allow your body to release and soften at its own pace.

This is yoga you can’t do wrong. You’ll be invited to listen to your body, find stillness, and simply be. Most students leave feeling grounded, relaxed, and more connected to themselves.

Common Yin Yoga Poses:

  • Butterfly Pose (Baddha Konasana)
  • Dragon Pose (a deep lunge)
  • Caterpillar Pose (seated forward fold)
  • Sphinx Pose (gentle backbend)
  • Child’s Pose (Balasana)
